STLCC ART + DESIGN EXHIBITION
Woodblock Poster & Design Process

For our school's prestigious annual Juried Art and Design Exhibition, we had the honor of crafting a poster that would represent the diverse array of both traditional and digital artworks on display from various departments. With a flexible brief in hand, we were given creative liberty to shape the visual narrative as we saw fit.

Harnessing the tactile charm of traditional printmaking, we meticulously crafted wooden boards, which were then inked in our school's dedicated print workshop. From these, we printed postcard-sized versions of our envisioned design. The woodblock print was later digitized and adapted to fit the commanding 22x28 inch poster dimension.
Furthermore, we refined the typography, infusing it with more dynamism to complement the rich red hue of the backdrop. This deliberate design fusion elegantly bridges the realms of fine art and digital design, reflecting the diverse range of artworks that the exhibition promises.

This poster was not just an individual endeavor but a collaborative effort, realized in partnership with Selma Skokic and Shruthi Beedu. Our design is anchored by one of STLCC's most iconic statues, a symbol both instantly recognizable and emblematic of the institution's identity.
