STLCC Room Number Redesign
Signage + ColorĀ Variants

For my design endeavor, I employed an intuitive and universally adaptable grid system for the STLCC Room Number Redesign. The revamped design foregrounds the three pivotal elements of any room: its number, the building it's housed in, and its intended function.

A commitment to lucidity drove every aspect of the design. To this end, I opted for sans and slab serifs as the typefaces of choice. Their sharp contours and unmistakable legibility naturally dovetailed with the design's geometric precision, reinforcing clarity at every turn.

While I initially embraced the school's signature hues of light and dark blue, the project's trajectory soon shifted towards exploring novel color palettes. Drawing inspiration from the visible light spectrum, I devised thematic color schemes that could be matched with various class disciplines or distinct buildings. This color-coding strategy grants the institution the flexibility to assign variations as they deem fit.

Gridded Draft of the Room Number
Though my designs haven't been officially adopted, they have achieved their core objective: infusing clarity, instilling a sense of order, and introducing a contemporary aesthetic to a fundamental facet of the STLCC campus.
